MISSION

Our mission is to assist the communities and local governments of Madison County in creating, developing, and maintaining a system of multi-use, non-motorized trails that will interconnect the people of our county to their homes, businesses, historic sites, churches, schools, parks, and other places.

Madison County Greenways and Trails, Inc. promotes healthier lifestyle choices through activities that include but are not limited to bicycling, skating, horseback riding, walking, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking. We are a 501(c)(3)non-profit, tax-exempt organization and accept donations to further our mission.

Over 60 adult riders and 14 youth riders participated in the cycling and healthcare event in downtown Richmond in August. A criterium, or crit, is a bike race held on a short course (usually less than 5 km), often run on closed-off city centre streets.

Public hearing set for Indian Fort Trail
The City of Berea has scheduled a public hearing on the portion of Indian Fort Shared Use Trail from Harrison Road to Short Line Pike. The meeting is Thursday, May 28 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber in the Municipal and Police Building located at 304 Chestnut St. Map of proposed trail

Get Healthy Berea

MEMBERSHIP
Please consider joining! Individual dues are $15 per year and family dues are $25 per year. You may bring your dues payments to the next meeting or you may mail them to our post office box listed above. At the July meeting we voted to place $225 into a fund to set up a Bicycle Helmet Community Service Project. We plan to purchase helmets to give to children in our county in need of bike helmets and to insure that helmets are included when bicycles are given as gifts and prizes.
